Introduction

Welcome to the Dream Web App, designed for any internet-enabled mobile device.

From 1906 to 1991, Sutton Manor was home to a thriving coal mine; today, nearly all traces of the colliery are gone.

The site is now a community woodland & home to Dream, the landmark sculpture by world-renowned artist Jaume Plensa.

This mesmerising artwork is attracting tens of thousands of visitors a year from near & far, & is putting St.Helens on the map.

A celebration of the site’s past & human endeavours, plus a source of inspiration for the future …

Car parking is available at the King George V playing fields, while the audio tours begin at the entrance to the Sutton Manor site from the Smithy Manor pub car park.

These audio guides will help you discover the amazing story of Dream itself, plus why this is also such a special place in terms of its heritage & wildlife habitats.

You can access each Point of Interest via the Navigation Menu above.

The Interactive Map: shows your relative location onsite & is suitable for devices with  built-in GPS & access to Google Maps.

The Site Map provides a static overview of the site & shows the recommended route for your walk, taking in the Points of Interest; these are also identified by way-marker posts onsite.

We hope you enjoy your visit!

Please help preserve the site & natural environment by kindly taking any litter with you when you leave.
